Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar
Stepping inside, this 1912 heritage building is both comfortable and artistic. High ceilings and exposed brick & beam in the wine bar, vintage woods, crystal stemware, crisp linens and local art exhibits in the dining room. The sounds of a busy dining room greet you with the crunch of textures and comfortable conversations. The seasonally changing, Modern Canadian Cuisine present local ingredients prepared with classic techniques borrowed from around the world.

The entrance is through a table-set courtyard, highly reminiscent of the outdoor breakfast rooms of small French and Italian hotels. The greenery-draped courtyard, with container flowers, comfortable tables & chairs, candles in the evening, is one of the city's most romantic dining spots. Tucked under the windows of small businesses, artists & entrepreneurs, the courtyard, unlike many of the city's patios, is completely private in the evenings with no restrictions as to how long you can linger after dinner.

Summer is a natural of course, and the brick enclosed walls and outdoor heating allow for spring & fall el fresco dining. The courtyard will be renovated later this year with a glass ceiling installed 35 feet over the outdoor patio, allowing for guaranteed seating rain or shine and year round outdoor dining as well as an outdoor fireplace. One of Vancouver's top plant and floral designer's will create an award winning display creating an old world garden courtyard that draws guests in from the street and comfortable, indoor dining furniture will leave guests feeling like they can stay all night. There won't be a more elegant patio in the city.

The cuisine is well priced and the wine list extensive with familiar wines, unusual finds and thoughtful choices. The wine bar serves over 50 wines by the glass and is a popular spot for locals, restaurant industry and the entertainment business to dine casually after work or for late night small plates after the theatre, a movie or late night working on set.

The wine program features one of the city's most extensive by the glass choices, each with its own description, and an in-depth bottle list that covers most of the world’s wine regions. Brix Wine Bar hosts various tasting events throughout the year ranging from sell-out wine "raves" to elegant wild game and syrah pairings and owner/sommelier David Hannay is available to consult on your wine choice.
