Vancouver Profile

This beach front landmark boasts incomparable views from every table, a relaxed fine dining room, a 70 seat heated patio, a comfortable martini lounge and an award winning list. The Beach House is a short scenic drive over the Lion's Gate Bridge.

The lounge was designed with the intention to make it both a meeting place and a hideaway for all those who know the Beach House well and for those just passing through. Many drop in for a snack after work or wander in for a breather and a beer after a stroll on the sea wall, and still more do business at the bar. Others come because they feel at home. Of course, these days it feels as if it’s the best Canuck ticket this side of the bridge. The dining room menu is fully available in the lounge and the emphasis is always on casual with no reservations being taken. It’s a great place to kick back and relax.

Conceived by renowned local designer Elaine Thorsell, the dining room at the Beach House is the latest incarnation of a 100 year old West Vancouver landmark. With mural pieces by artist Jack Darcus depicting a Dundarave Day adorning one side of the room, the others face out to sea across the driftwood beach and the pier at the foot of 25th Street. From almost every table the islands can be seen across Burrard Inlet (best at sunset) while the comings and goings of the freighters and cruise ships blend the surreal with the tranquil. There is style and comfort to every table.
