On Friday a BC Supreme Court judge is expected to decide on a court battle over the HST. A coalition of BC Businesses claim the HST is a federal tax so the provincial government's consent isn't constitutionally required. Last week Elections BC verified the Fight HST petition but refused to forward it to the BC Legislature until the court case was settled.
The anti-HST campaign is pretty confident the judge will take its side. Former premier Bill Vander Zalm has been spearing heading anti-HST movement. "If he decides for the unlikely event it goes in favour of the business group, then we simply prepare and proceed as we had planned in the first place with the recall."
