With the Olympics over and done, Tourism Whistler is trying to come up with new ways to bring in visitors. In the last two years, it has focused on a regional based strategy, reaching out to people in B.C. and Washington State. But now it's looking across the globe.
Tourism Whistler President and CEO Barrett Fisher says one country they're targeting is Brazil. "it has an interesting mix of clientele. They actually have a strong interest in skiing and winter. They also have a strong interest in some of the summer product offerings." Fisher says the group is also scoping out other emerging markets, such as China and India.
