An Olympic event started just a few days ago, and you can take part in it until the end of the month. VANOC has put just about everything that you can pry loose on the auction block, including game worn jerseys and other items used personally by the athletes.
John Curleigh from Gameday Auction says he's dealt with auctions before involving sports memorabilia, but this one is unique. "I've been in sports for a long time and some of the amount of bids and the dollars that we're getting are just completely unprecedented in sport."
He says you can even bid on curling rocks - the sport totally fascinated a visiting actor. "We had Vince Vaughn, who is one of our guests who came up from the states. And they all decided to forego one of their activities and events on last Saturday, and they all rented the curling ice somewhere and they all went curling."
Curleigh says you won't get a chance to bid on Sidney Crosby's missing gloves and sticks, as they make sure all items athletes want to keep are kept for them. All items are authenticated by VANOC. You can place bids at Vancouver2010.com/auction.
