Fatal accident on the Sea-to-Sky Highway

February 7, 2010. Squamish RCMP are investigating a fatal accident between a bus and a pedestrian on the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Mounties say just before 4:30 a.m. two police cruisers spotted a man laying in the slow lane of the road. Just as they were responding, a north bound Whistler Transit Bus in that lane was apparently unable to stop and ran over the victim. Police say the man died at the scene but won't say who he is. The highway had been shutdown and traffic rerouted for a couple of hours, but it has since been re-opened.
