King George School has a long and illustrious history in Vancouver. Named after the British monarch, George V, it was originally constructed at Burrard and Nelson in 1896. The school motto "Magni Animo" continues to reflect the true nature of the school - Great in Spirit!
King George currently enrolls just over 480 students. Its small size is one of its biggest assets. A feeling of community and family form the core values that continue to move the school toward the academic and social success of all students. The student population is diverse, but a strong sense of inclusiveness and acceptance produce a safe and secure learning environment.
Nearly 63.5% of all students have a first language other than English. Of these, a significant number were born in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Many other students come from Asia and the Middle East.
