Britannia |
Britannia Elementary Community School is an open area school designed and built in the 1970's. The school currently enrols 225 Kindergarten to Grade Seven students and was an integral part of the Britannia Community Centre project. Other buildings on the site include an ice skating rink, swimming pool, teen center, family activity room, public library, senior center, East Side Family Place, daycare center and community policing office.
Britannia is home to students of many cultural backgrounds including a growing number of First Nations students and students who speak English as a Second Language. Other than English, languages spoken include Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Blackfoot, French, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Filipino, Polish, Shuswap and Tagalog.
Our school goals focus on literacy, numeracy and social responsibility.
