Lord Beaconsfield School, built and opened in 1914, is a fine old school with a long history of serving children and families in our diverse and ever changing city. In spite of the changes in our neighbourhood and school, there is a sense of continuity at Beaconsfield which is illustrated by the fact that some of our current families are into the third generation of sending children to the school.
The school is named after Benjamin Disraeli who accepted the title of the Earl of Beaconsfield in 1876. Benjamin Disraeli was born in 1804 and became a writer, politician, Cabinet Minister and finally, Prime Minister of Britain.
Beaconsfield has a population of approximately 325 children from varied backgrounds and with sixteen language groups being represented. Nearly half of the children speak either Cantonese or Mandarin while English comprises the second largest first language group.
