Education in Vancouver
The Vancouver school district is a large, urban and multicultural school district providing programs to 56,000 students in Kindergarten to Grade 12, over 3,000 adults in adult education programs and over 40,000 in continuing education.
Vancouver schools are organized into three areas: North, Centre and South. Every school has its own catchment area. Each school also belongs to a family of schools with a secondary school and the elementary schools and annexes that feed into the secondary.
All Vancouver schools provide a comprehensive educational program, as well as special programs to meet a wide variety of student needs. Vancouver schools follow the British Columbia provincial curriculum.
While on this web site, you will find direct links to each school's web site as well as the school profile. The school profile provides information about the school's mission statement, contact numbers, programs and services, and map location.
All schools participate in a school growth process. School growth plans are developed annually by parents, staff members and students and include clear goals for improving and enhancing student learning and development.

Funded by the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Public Library is the third largest public library system in Canada, with over 395,000 cardholders and more than 8 million items borrowed annually. The library's origins go back as far as 1869. Today, with the Central Library, 20 branches, collections available in a variety of formats & languages, and Outreach Services to home-bound patrons, VPL is accessible to all citizens of Vancouver.
